thank you for being so thoughtful to send a greeting. We are celebrating it tonight a day late. Vicki & Terry, Randy & Corinne, Bob & I are meeting at a restaurant in Ashkum, about 20 miles south of here, this evening at 6. Sure wish you could join us. Bob did turn 80 yesterday, I will be 80 in August, and we celebrate our 60th Wedding Anniversary on Feb. 8 th. Our children are holding a big celebration honoring all three occassions, On May 19th. With God Willing.
We are having a rather mild winter(so far). Other parts of the USA are having very unusual weather. Marla in Kansas says it is the coldest winter they have had since moving there about 22 years ago. Marla is now working for the State of Kansas and has a office in the Capital Bldg. It is just a three month job that she will have every year(if she is capable) has something to do with the representives elections. But she is very interested in the work she is doing.
Every one else is the family is about the same, as when you were here. I have to send you some up dates. Randy's family increased, his oldest daughter was expecting when you were here, in fact I think she announced it during your visit, that was Riley, who is going to be 6 in March. But doing great now. Sunny & Joe Kostecka,(Randy's middle daughter & husband) had a son Dalton, that will be 3 in June.
Vicki & Terry youngest son, Tim, graduates from Illinois State University this May. Think that brings you up to date with the family.

I hope your 2013 is off to a good start. I enjoy hearing about the things you do in your retirement to stay active and happy.
I'm afraid I must first give you some sad news - my aunt Ardis Boone passed away around 3:30 this morning. She had been in deteriorating health the last few weeks and I think she was ready to go.
Her daughter, Marla Morris, just contacted me by e-mail with this news. I don't know any other details yet. Although we knew her condition was bad, this news was quite sudden. She had become very confused and was just recently moved from the 'independent living' section of elder care into the 'nursing home' section. She was in Kankakee. I hope to travel down to be with her family in Illinois this weekend if possible.
On some happier news, my father is doing very well in his cancer treatment and has stayed in fairly good health. He and Mom decided to go back to Arizona for a few months. We didn't want them driving down in the winter, so we had them fly down. I left on January 1 with their car and drove to AZ over 4 days. It was about 1800 miles (2900 km). I enjoyed the driving and was able to visit my cousin Marla in Kansas on the way. I met Mom & Dad at the airport in Arizona on January 5th and helped them get settled in a rented motor home. Our whole family will gather in Arizona the first week in March if all goes well. I'm glad they are in a warmer place because it has become very cold in Minnesota that last few days. It is 12 F (-11 C) right now and tonight we expect -10 F (-23 C).
I changed job locations in November 2012. I'm working again for he office of Student Financial Aid at the U of MN. I think it was a good move. We have another large software implementation project that will take about 2 or 3 years. I hope you and your family are well. Please greet them all from me.

Ardis Mae Boone, 85, of St. Anne, died Wednesday (Jan. 23, 2013) at Riverside Medical Center, Kankakee. Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the Clancy-Gernon-Houk Funeral Home, St. Anne. Memorials may be made to the Kankakee Genealogical Society
